Lookup Tarrant County Inmate Records

Tarrant County inmate records are searched through the county jail roster when a person is in local custody after booking. A Tarrant County jail roster search can show custody status, CID, facility location, active booking rows, bond fields, and booking photo availability. The county roster is the starting point to look up Tarrant County inmates, while sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates, immigration detainees, and custody-notification searches use separate official systems.

Use the Tarrant County Jail Roster

A precise search works best when the CID is known. CID is the Tarrant County identifier shown in result rows and profile URLs. If CID is not known, start with last name, add first name for common names, and use race or sex filters only when those details are reliable. The results table can sort and page through matches, with a default display size of 10.

  1. Open the official Tarrant County inmate search.
  2. Enter a last name or CID. Add first name to narrow common names.
  3. Use race, sex, and records-to-display controls only when they help rather than exclude a possible match.
  4. Review the Search Results table for CID, name, race, sex, and "In Custody?" status.
  5. Open the ViewLink on a likely record to see the detailed inmate profile.
  6. If no record appears after a recent arrest, call 817-884-3000 or check the magistration docket.

Tarrant County Roster Search Fields

The roster form uses a small set of fields, which is helpful when names are misspelled or common. The search does not replace a records request for old bookings, letters of incarceration, or records that are no longer shown in the live public roster.

Search results show a ViewLink, CID, Last Name, First Middle Name, Race, Sex, and In Custody? field. The ViewLink opens the detail profile with the profile URL pattern tied to the CID.

Tarrant County Inmate Profile Fields

The inspected public profile showed the current jail record rather than a full criminal-history file. It included demographic fields, a booking photo if available, facility location, and active booking tables. The profile did not show height, weight, eye color, hair color, date of birth, housing unit, cell block, court date, projected release date, or magistrate name in the inspected sample, so those fields should not be expected on every public profile.

Tarrant County Booking Records

Tarrant County's booking process starts at the Corrections Center, where the county says all inmates are centrally received, booked, photographed, and enrolled by iris. After identity intake, the record receives charge or commitment authority data, booking number details, bond and hold fields, medical or mental-health screening, classification, and a housing assignment in one of the five county jail facilities. The public profile's facility field is the most direct way to confirm where a person is held before a visit.

Booking records and court records are related, but they are not the same. The jail profile can list arrest charges, bond rows, and holds before the prosecutor's formal charging decision appears in a court portal. The public magistration docket is the bridge between the two systems. It lists CID, name, time, charged offense, and agency, and it refreshes every 300 seconds.

Tarrant County Bond Fields

The Tarrant County inmate profile includes Bond Type, Posted, Conds, Hold No-Bond, and Bond Amnt. A person can have more than one active booking row. One no-bond hold may prevent release even when another row shows a bond amount. The Tarrant County daily bond reports page also publishes last-14-days bond report links, with day 1 described as the most recent.

Note: Confirm bond and no-bond hold status with the Detention Bureau before assuming payment will cause release.

Tarrant County Jail Facilities

The county jail system has five facilities, all using the same Detention Bureau information line and the same central roster. The Tarrant County Corrections Center is the primary intake and booking point. Lon Evans, Green Bay, Belknap, and Cold Springs are county jail buildings where people may be assigned after classification. Facility-specific pages are useful for addresses, but none of the county facilities has a separate public roster.

Tarrant County Visitation Records

Visitation is countywide across the jail facilities. The county says all facilities have the same schedule and that visitor signup begins 30 minutes before visiting hours. Each inmate is limited to one 30-minute visit per day and a maximum of three visits per week, excluding attorney, law-enforcement, or professional visits unless a supervisor approves more. Visitors age 18 or older must present photo identification.

The official Tarrant County visitation page publishes the last-name schedule and visitor rules:

Because facility assignment can change, confirm the inmate's current facility in the roster profile before using the visitation schedule.

Tarrant County Mail and Money

Tarrant County allows inmates to send and receive letters, but general mail is routed to an outside source, scanned into an electronic system, approved or denied by mailroom personnel, and then made available on the inmate's tablet. Legal mail is treated separately. Letters mailed to inmates must be no larger than 12 by 16 inches. This scanned-mail rule is important because a paper letter is not simply delivered to housing as paper in most general-mail situations.

Phone access begins during booking. The county phone page says free phone calls are available only while the inmate is in the booking process, and that holding-cell phones can be used to arrange bail, notify family, or reach an attorney. Local dialing-area booking calls are free, while collect calls are available outside the local dialing area. Smart Communications handles collect-call customer service at 1-727-349-1561.

Tarrant County Inmate Records Fallbacks

A complete access-channel chain uses more than the jail roster. When the county roster does not find the person, call 817-884-3000, check the magistration docket for a recent first appearance, or submit a Public Information Act request through the county's open-records process. Email requests may go to openrecords@tarrantcountytx.gov, and the documented fax number is 817-884-1675.
